Where to begin...
Cassie is Lindsay's personal horse, and is a 1996 model Curly mare. Lindsay and Cassie met in June of 2016 when Lindsay agreed to do 60 days of training with the mare. At this point, she was known locally as the "Crazy Curly".
In September of 2017, Lindsay was given the horse after not working with her past August of 2016. The mare had been found to have had cataracts in both eyes, worse in the left and overdue teeth per Lindsay's urging and the previous owner felt she could trust Lindsay to have Cassie's best interest in mind. All of the parts that Lindsay wouldn't budge on in 2016 with training, had been explained and proven with a few diagnostics and a vet that would listen.
Every time Lindsay interacts with Cassie, she furthers her understanding of horses - as Cassie loves to remind Lindsay she is a great teacher if only the human will listen.
Lindsay started the Masterson Method program, which makes up 90-95% of every session within Lindsay's practice due to this mare and her bodily needs. She then continued to the advanced course for the mare as well, but by then the barn community had taken note. Lindsay had achieved a lot with the mare in a short amount of time, by addressing the root issues with accuracy and care.
Below, is a comparison photo of the progress Cassie has made since Lindsay started in early 2018 with the mare to now (October 2020).
Cassie has only aged, and yet her movement, posture and mental/behavior has only improved in Lindsay's care. Lindsay strives to provide this sort of support for all horses, as her clients become part of her 'Herd' as well.
